T.W.A.S.

T.W.A.S.
THIS WEEK AT SCHOOL

Our class had buddies with the kindergarten class on Friday.  We played with the cards and the dominoes.

We put our fall poems on our leaf paintings we made.

We had Show and Teach today and L. brought a birds nest, A. brought in some Romanian money and M. brought in books about animal adaptations.

A couple kids brought in literacy games to play during Free Time or after Journal Writing.

Our class has a “Character Box.”  In this box, students write a note about another student who has done something that takes care of themselves, each other, or our place. Then Ms. Rutland takes the notes out and the class reads them. After that we
put them back in and then Ms. Rutland picks two out and they get a prize.

We had a guest come and teach us about “expected and unexpected” behaviours.  Expected behaviours are good behaviours and unexpected behaviours are things like ignoring people, not listening, or goofing around.  These are things that make other people have bad or uncomfortable thoughts.

We started a science research project so we had to pick an animal that was not in the zoo.  We are writing jot notes about our animal’s adaptations, physical characteristics, habitat, life cycle, survival/defense, food, and interesting facts.

On Thursday afternoon, after fitness time in gym with Ms. Hardacre, we had cursive writing with Madame Gagne.
